Preview, prediction

Villa will draw on their experiences of playing in the Europe Conference League last season to prepare for this trip, but given the magnitude of the occasion and the competition, they will face a new level of pressure and expectation.

Who better though than Emery to be at the helm passing on his experience, knowledge and coaching brilliance, and while they’ll face a tricky side in Young Boys who beat Galatasaray home and away in the playoff stage to qualify for the competition, they will certainly be a threat.

Nevertheless, Villa boast the superior quality in their squad, and with no new injury setbacks as they await the return of key players such as Tyrone Mings and Boubacar Kamara, back Emery’s side to mark their return to the big table with a win in Bern.
