How to watch the Champions League quarter-finals: TV channel, stream, preview

Champions League how to watch

Paris St-G travel to Spain already 2-3 down from the first leg, while Atletico go to Germany to defend a 2-1 lead. The bottom half of the draw will be lucky for one team, with all the best teams in the top half.

The only advantage of having the two best teams, Man City and Real Madrid, a game which should have graced the final, play each other is that you get to see the contest twice.

Champions League previews and predictions

Barcelona vs PSG

PSG have it far too easy in the French League, so are incapable of competing at the highest level in Europe. This is not a vintage Barcelona side and even their manager Xavi is leaving at the end of the season. Perhaps he might reconsider if they get to or even win the Champions League. This is also Mbappé’s last season with PSG as he knows that if he wishes to add a Champions League winner’s medal to his World Cup medal, he has to go to Real Madrid. More meetings with Barcelona beckon. You can’t discount any side with Mbappé in it, but Barcelona at home should make it to the semi-final.

Dortmund vs Atletico Madrid

If there’s any side in Europe capable of defending a one goal lead over two legs in Europe, then that side is Diego Simeone’s Atletico. He is the longest serving manager of a top-flight European team and has taken Atletico to two Champions League finals in 2014 and 2016. Will he make it a third? They should beat Dortmund and face fellow Spanish side Barcelona in the semi-final, but they’ve already lost twice to the Catalans in the league this season, so that’s as far as they’ll get.

Champions League predictions, preview

Thomas Tuchel will have been delighted with the first-leg result in London and will be looking to use his side’s home advantage on Wednesday night.

Bayern rested several key players over the weekend against FC Koln, but did suffer an injury to forward, Kingsley Coman who has been ruled out for a few weeks with an adductor injury. The German side will also be without Serge Gnabry(injured) and Alphonso Davies, who is suspended having been booked at the Emirates last week.

‘The Gunners’ suffered a surprise defeat last time out against Aston Villa and will know they will need to improve considerably to claim a semi-final spot. Mikel Arteta will be hoping that captain, Martin Odegaard will be available, having been forced off with an unspecified injury over the weekend. It is a tie that could go either way, but we feel that on current form Bayern will just edge through.

Whilst Real Madrid managed to salvage a draw late on at the Bernabeu, Manchester City will be delighted to go into the second leg on level terms. They are undefeated so far at the Etihad Stadium all season and will be confident they can get over the line in front of their home supporters.

Both sides rotated their teams over the weekend in order to keep players fresh. The likes of Foden, Rodri, and Grealish were all unused substitutes in City’s 5-1 win against Luton on Saturday. Defenders, Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake also returned to the match-day squad.

Ancelotti’s side will be without Aurelien Tchouameni, who is suspended following his early yellow card in the first leg. Forward, Rodrygo has traveled despite concerns over his availability. Despite all of Madrid’s firepower. we can’t see anything but a home win for Pep and his team.
