FA Cup predictions, preview
Our first semi-final sees Manchester City take on Chelsea. Pep Guardiola’s side are fresh off their Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid so they will be looking to bounce back into form this Saturday.
Despite playing well on Wednesday they were unable to break down their opponent. City fans will also be worried as Pep revealed that Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne asked to be substituted midweek. The severity of their injuries is still yet to be known.
Chelsea will be hoping that they can return to Wembley and make amends for their League Cup Final defeat at the hands of Liverpool back in February. Having scored six goals in their last game, confidence will be high going into this season-defining game. It will no doubt be a special occasion for former City player, Cole Palmer, who is enjoying an amazing run of form this season. We expect another close game, similar to their last meeting which ended in a draw. With that being said, we expect Man City to come out victorious.
In the second semi-final Championship side Coventry City face off against Manchester United.
After beating Wolves in the previous round Mark Robins will fancy his side’s chances against a United team that has been below-par and inconsistent all season.
‘The Sky Blues’ will be hoping that striker Ellis Simms can resume his fine form in the competition, having already scored five goals so far.
Man United will be trying to keep their season alive by securing a place in the final on Sunday. Erik ten Hag will be feeling the pressure now, especially as the prospect of Champions League football next season is pretty much dead and buried.
Not much has changed on the injury front for Ten Hag’s team so 19-year-old Willy Kimbawala is expected to continue in the heart of the defense alongside Harry Maguire.
