Preview & predictions

Casper Ruud will be aiming to make it three French Open finals in a row with a win over Alexander Zverev on Friday. Paris has become somewhat of a second home to Ruud who seems to shine when he steps onto the courts at Roland Garros. With a win on Friday, he will be hoping that it will be third time lucky in his quest to finally capture the prestigious trophy.

Zverev will have something to say about that as he is currently playing some of the best tennis of his career. The German came through his quarter-final match against Alex de Minaur in convincing fashion, dispatching his opponent in straight sets. Ruud and Zverev have only played each other four times on previous occasions with both men winning two matches each. We have to favor the Norwegian in this one, especially as he has had more time to recover following Novak Djokovic’s withdrawal from their quarter-final match. Ruud to win in four.

Many believe that the winner of the second semi-final will go on to win the tournament this year. All eyes will be on the eagerly anticipated match between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. Both men will be hoping to make it to their first French Open final after previously only getting as far as the semis. This is a real 50-50 contest as there isn’t much separating the two young stars at the moment with both players only dropping one set so far.

The new world number one, Sinner, may be the slight favorite heading into Friday’s match but we think his opponent may get the better of him on this occasion. We see the match going the distance with Alcaraz coming out on top.
