Match predictions, preview & predicted lineups
Both sides are on 100% record after their opening two games of the season. Last weekend Arsenal came away from Villa Park with all three points, while Brighton scored late into stoppage time to earn themselves a victory over Man Utd.
‘The Gunners’ made amends after losing both league meetings against Villa last season. Substitute Leandro Trossard was the difference maker as he came on and almost immediately scored to put his side ahead. Mikel Arteta now has a decision to make on whether the Belgian comes into the side ahead of Gabriel Martinelli whose recent performances have been below par. Defender Jurrien Timber also impressed in his first start for the club since the opening day of last season.
Fabian Hurzeler has enjoyed the start to his Brighton career so far with three wins out of three in all competitions. His team looks very stable at the back and very exciting going forward. Veteran striker Danny Welbeck has scored in both league games so far and looks like a player reborn.
New signing Matt O’Riley made his debut for ‘The Seagulls’ on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup but was forced off in the early stages with an ankle injury, so he will not be available on Saturday.
We predict a narrow win for the home side this weekend.
Predicted lineups:
