Match predictions, teams & preview

Steve Borthwick’s natural caution has led him to a 6-2 split on the bench for Saturday’s game. England lost both Test matches against the All Blacks in New Zealand in the summer, 15-16 in Dunedin and 17-24 in Auckland. England’s best chance to win there is always in the first Test as it’s the start of New Zealand’s season and the All Blacks had a new coach in Scott Robertson. Argentina showed the All Blacks were vulnerable when they gained a historic win in Wellington in August. South Africa also beat them twice in the Rugby Championship. So Borthwick’s best chance passed him by and now when he needs to be more attack minded he’s gone in the opposite direction. He has also selected on the bench George Ford, who is coming back from injury, in place of Finn Smith from Northampton, a player in great form. Robertson has selected Beauden Barrett instead of Damian McKenzie (on the bench) at fly-half which points to more of a kicking game, Expect another close game with one score in it, but the All Blacks to win three in a row.
