Can Arsenal come back from two defeats in a week that firstly severely dented their hopes of winning the Premiership and secondly the Champions League? They fell apart last year after their home defeat by Man City, but seemed to have developed a greater resilience this season with the addition of Declan Rice and Jorginho. However the lack of a major cutting edge upfront has cost them. Wolves have been no great shakes themselves and haven’t won at home since the beginning of March when they beat Fulham. Arsenal have to win this one to maintain any sort of challenge and should manage to beat Wolves. It’s curtains if they don’t.

Sunday

A relegation dogfight when neither side knows how many points that they will or will not be deducted by the end of the season. It seems to change every week and it is no way to run what is supposedly the best league in the world. Also in a week when Liz Truss has compared herself to Brian Clough, it only reminds us of Forest’s glory days against the current struggles.Everton’s supposed takeover also looks in jeopardy so nothing is going right up on Merseyside as well. A one all draw which suits neither side and just prolongs the agony for both.

Match predictions, preview

Liverpool know that they can’t afford to slip up this weekend in what is a crucial game down in West London.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were not able to overcome the 3-0 deficit midweek away in Bergamo despite coming away with the victory. It was a better showing than the ones in recent matches but they are still struggling to convert their chances. Mo Salah will be hoping to rediscover some of the form he had before he picked up his injury at the African Cup of Nations.

In their last fixture, Fulham beat West Ham convincingly and will also be motivated to improve on last season’s tenth-place finish. ‘The Cottagers’ have been quite inconsistent as of late but manager Marcos Silva will certainly not be allowing his players to switch off this Sunday. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last five league visits to Craven Cottage, and we expect them to come away with all three points this weekend. Away win.
