Match predictions, preview & predicted lineups
Leicester are back in the Premiership after a season in the Championship which they won. However they lost their manager Enzo Maresca to Chelsea in the close season, replacing him with Steve Cooper the ex-Nottingham Forest manager, not the most imaginative choice. Jamie Vardy is the only player left from the Premiership winning team of 2015/16 and he is currently out injured. With Daka also injured it leaves Leicester very light in attack. Harry Winks is likely to play against his old side for the first time, but it is probably too soon for Oliver Skipp who is also joining the Foxes from Spurs.
Tottenham have added Dominic Solanke to their squad from Bournemouth for £55m and he is likely to start, especially with Richarlison out injured. Spurs also have Timo Verner and Brennan Johnson as forward reinforcements. They also two new players Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, both of whom are likely to have the first first appearances for the club at some point in the game.
Spurs to get their season off with a win with ex-Leicester star James Maddison to score.
Predicted lineups:
Leicester: (4-3-3) Hermansen; Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin; Winks, Ndidi, Soumare; Reid, Mavididi, Fatawu
Tottenham: (4-2-3-1) Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke
