Preview, prediction, line ups

Man City don’t lose at home. This game is a replay of the Champions League final of two years ago when City won the competition for the first and so far only time. With Liverpool beating the other Milan side at the San Siro yesterday, this should be a English double. Rodri returns for his first game of the season and Jack Grealish is now back in favour, perhaps after his two good performances for England last week. The Man City bench looks particularly strong with Foden, Doku, Gundogan, Kovačić, Stones, Nunes and Walker. An easy win for the home side who are favourites alongside Real Madrid to win the whole competition.

Man City: (3-2-4-1) Ederson; Gvardiol, Ruben Dias, Akanji; Rodri, Lewis; Grealish, De Bruyne, B Silva, Savinho; Haaland

Inter: (3-5-2) Sommer; Bastoni, Acerbi, Bisseck; Carlos Augusto, Zieliński, Çalhanoğlu, Barella, Darmian; Taremi, Thuram
