However, there will be 31 other teams battling for a place in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans in February, and it certainly feels as though there are many contenders this time round that could dethrone the Chiefs.

The San Francisco 49ers will be a threat from the NFC again after falling short last time round, but with coach Kyle Shanahan bringing key pieces on their roster back and with Brock Purdy another season into his career, could the Niners finally end their wait to lift the Lombardi Trophy again and take that last step?

Staying in the NFC, the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers will want to gatecrash those plans, while the Houston Texans are fancied by many as CJ Stroud continues to shine and see his offense strengthened. With a healthy Joe Burrow back calling the shots, could the Cincinnati Bengals be a threat again this year, and similarly with the New York Jets, can Aaron Rodgers inspire them to go all the way after his injury nightmare last season?

The regular season will undoubtedly deliver more drama, storylines, twists and turns as well as brilliant action week in and week out, and that’s all before the playoffs get underway. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming NFL season…
