How to watch Premiership Semi-finals this weekend

The two semi-finals this weekend pitch two sides which finished the season best. Northampton have had a wonderful season making to the European Cup semis as well as dominating the premiership.  Bath and Sale also looks like uninteresting encounter on Saturday.

The arrival of Fin Smith at Northampton from Worcester galvanised an already good Saints side this season. Their success was recognised by England who picked George Furbank, Fraser Dingwal. Tommy Freeman, Alex Mitchell and Smith for its Six Nations squad. It will also be the last club game for one of the two captains, Courtney Lawes of Northampton and Owen Farrell of Saracens, both of whom move to France next season. I think home advantage will mean that Lawes has that extra games.

Bath vs Sale

So who will be going to Twickenham next weekend to play Northampton Saints in the Premiership final, Bath or Sale? This game revolves around the two fly-halves, Finn Russell of Bath and George Ford of Sale. Scotland’s Russell has made a major difference in his first season in the West Country and I expect him to be the main catalyst for a Bath win at the Rec. Tom Curry is on the bench for Sale for his first game since playing for England in the World Cup in October and may join his twin brother Ben, but Manu Tuilagi won’t play as he’s injured yet again. Refugees from the Premiership clubs that went broke last year have been very influential for their new clubs and none more so than Alfie Barbeary, ex-Wasps, at no 8 for Bath and Ollie Lawrence, ex-Worcester, at centre. So a Northampton Bath final next Saturday.
