Unai Emery made significant changes to his side and so he’ll revert back to his strongest XI for this encounter, while it remains to be seen just how much their midweek exploits took out of Tottenham’s players as Ange Postecoglu has key decisions to make.

In terms of their league form, Spurs will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat of their own to Palace last time out, while a last-gasp equaliser denied Villa all three points against Bournemouth, and so that sets this game up to be a key showdown for both sides.

For Villa, it’s a chance to keep up the pace towards the top of the standings and put some distance between themselves and a fellow top-four contender, while for the hosts, it’s imperative that they start closing the gap and building some momentum of their own.

Tottenham Hotspur possible starting lineup:
Vicario; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie; Kulusevski, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son

Aston Villa possible starting lineup:
Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Onana, Tielemans; McGinn, Rogers, Ramsey; Watkins

Prediction: Score draw. Both sides have great attacking quality and so we expect goals in this one, but ultimately it’s hard to split them as it should be a fascinating contest.
