Match predictions, preview & predicted lineups
West Ham has a poor record against this weekend’s opponents Man City and will be hoping that new manager Julen Lopetegui will be able to help turn the tide.
His side are coming off two wins and two clean sheets, so confidence within the squad should be high. New captain Jarrod Bowen has been amongst the goals, scoring in both of his last two outings for ‘The Hammers’. We expect the new defensive partnership of Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo to line up against Man City on Saturday.
The champions have had a flawless start to the season picking up six points from their first two games. Last time out they put four goals past Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town, with striker Erling Haaland scoring a hattrick in the process. The Norwegian already has four goals to his name so far and you wouldn’t bet against him adding to that tally this weekend.
Pep Guardiola will hope to have Phil Foden available again after he was not selected last weekend due to illness. Rodri has also returned to the training pitches but probably won’t be deemed fit enough to start the game.
We predict a comfortable win for Pep and his side down in London.
Predicted lineups:
West Ham: Areola, Coufal, Todibo, Kilman, Wan-Bissaka, Soucek, Rodriguez, Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen, Antonio
Man City: Ederson, Lewis, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol, De Bruyne, Kovacic, Bernardo, Savinho, Doku, Haaland
