Fight preview and prediction

Lomachenko, 36, comes into this fight looking to bounce back after his defeat to Devin Haney last time out, and having seen Teofimo Lopez come unstuck against his opponent, he’ll be fully aware of the threat that he poses.

Getting his hands on the IBF strap will get the Ukrainian icon back in contention to unify the division, and although he isn’t getting any younger, he’ll put all his skills and class on show in this one to come away with the W.

Kambosos though will hope this is his chance to build momentum and get himself back on top. After back-to-back defeats to Haney, he defeated Maxi Hughes by majority decision in his last bout and he’ll be hoping to get himself back on track too with a title win.

This will come down to whether or not Kambasos can make his pressure and front-foot style work and put his punches together against Loma, or if he is ultimately counterpunched by the slick Ukrainian who uses his ringcraft and IQ to out-box and out-smart him.

We think it will be the latter, but it promises to be an intriguing clash of styles that should make for an entertaining watch.
