TNT Sports has announced that it will acquire Eurosport’s TV rights in the UK and Ireland from the end of February 2025.
The new deal will commence from February 28, and will see Warner Bros’ Discovery Sports expand their offering of content and production with Cycling, Tennis, Snooker and more being added to their Football, Rugby, Motor Sports and Combat Sports rights.

As part of their plans, there will also be free-to-air sports programming and coverage on Quest, which is available via Freeview and all major television platforms, but this new agreement remains just for the UK and Ireland region, with the Eurosport branding continuing in more than 50 territories across Europe.
As per an official statement from Eurosport, the change will take place at the end of February with the two brands being brought together to align and offer one single platform via TNT Sports, with the Eurosport app also ceasing to exist.
“Combining Eurosport and TNT Sports content in the UK and Ireland will enable us to offer a single, premium viewing experience for sports fans,” Scott Young, Group SVP, Content, Production & Business Operations, WBD Sports Europe, said.
“This move in the UK and Ireland will also continue to best deliver value for our leagues and federation partners, as we continue our 35 years plus commitment to investment and championing of sport on our screens, which remains a fundamental part of the success of grassroots through to elite.
“TNT Sports will also continue to bring more content to fans on Warner Bros. Discovery’s free-to-air channel Quest. In 2025, this will include broadcasting every MotoGP Sprint race, adding to existing live Bennetts British Superbikes coverage, a brand-new weekly cycling show covering all key moments of the season, continue highlights of the Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta a Espana, plus premiere a range of new sports documentaries.”
With broadcasting giants such as Sky Sports and DAZN continuing to invest heavily and expand their coverage and acquire more TV rights in various territories, this is an important development from TNT Sports’ perspective to continue to strengthen their package.
The deal will mean major tournaments such as the French Open, Australian Open and the Olympic Games in 2026 will be available to TNT Sports subscribers, but the move will naturally raise concern and anger for many given the significant increase in subscription costs for fans of the sports previously shown on Eurosport.
More will be revealed on the integration closer to the time, as it also remains to be seen what the impact is for existing subscribers with the additional sports becoming available.
