From July 18, 2023, BT Sport will be rebranded as TNT Sports as part of the joint venture plans announced by BT Sport and Eurosport UK.
The renaming of the channels follows the purchase of BT Sport by Warner Bros Discovery, which also owns Eurosport, and although the two channels will remain standalone options for now, they are expected to be brought together under the TNT Sports brand at some stage in the future.
After being formed on September 1, 2022, the venture will bring together an impressive line-up of live sports coverage for viewers in the UK and Ireland, including the Olympic Games, the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, UFC, Boxing, WWE, tennis Grand Slams, cycling Grand Tours and the winter sports season.
“The TNT Sports name is already synonymous with premium live sports in a number of countries around the world and a further sign of the global scale and expertise that WBD brings to the partnership with BT,” Andrew Georgiou, managing director of WBD Sports Europe, explained of the decision to rebrand.
‘New name, same game, same price’ was the message that was sent out to BT Sport subscribers this week with an update on the rebranding process, and so viewers can look forward to the TNT Sports brand hitting our screens later this summer ahead of a busy football schedule just weeks later.
